The
DRS 2006 Administration Kit
(03/06/2004)
The Administration Kit is a replacement to the Standard and Professional
Database Connectors, but it has many more features. For those
starting afresh with just the Enterprise installed this is where the
information about where your database files are is stored. In
this regard 'C:\DRS2006\DIGITALDATA'. The same as the
Standard and Professional versions.

DRS 2006 Connected to Database directory

It is
important that this is set to your default DRS 2006 directory. In
this case 'C:\DRS2006\DIGITALDATA'. If it is not set to
this, DRS 2006 will not find your database and will return the error
prompt.
A special note to remember is you may store your database on any hard
drive or networked computer you may choose. If you do so you have
to set the drive and respective directory by clicking the folder icon
to the right. However for ease of use the default directory is the
easiest option.
DRS 2006 User Management - User Name (Max 20 Users)
A great feature enabling your system administrator to set which modules
any specific person may use, via a username and password. For a person
to use the modules assigned to them they must log in using their assigned
password in the Launcher to 'Logon DRS 2006'.
Another feature allows for the passwords to be revealed to the system
administrator via the 'Visible' check box. You have options
to save or remove a user as required. The system administrator
is the person who should have access to all of the modules. To
do this enter a username and password and check all modules in the
'DRS 2006 User Management - Access Rights' window. To check all
modules simply click on the 'Check All' button at the bottom
of the window. Then save this user (click on the 'Save this
User' button). Follow the same procedure for each individual
access requirement for different people, checking and unchecking as
necessary the individual modules. A tip to note is to remind your
users to log off when they have completed their work (Barring On-Air
Jocks).

A generic
setting for Jocks may be: Username: Jocks, Password:
********, giving them access to Virtual Cart Machine, Radio Studio
and DJ Studio.
*WARNING* When you
check the button 'Prelistening Write Back' right beneath the
'User Management - Access Rights' window the changes a user
makes while prelistening to a title will be saved to the the database.
Backing up your Database

The
DRS 2006 Enterprise Administration Kit comes complete with a full
database backup facility. In the event of a system crash and
you losing your database for one reason or another, this feature will
allow you to restore your database to exactly how it was prior to
the problem. It is worthy to note that careful use of this feature
is a must. It is also advisable to store your backup on a different
hard drive, CD-Rom or network. In this case 'D:\DRS2006\DRS
Backup'. In the 'DRS 2006 Backup - Available Database
Backups'window you will see all backups stored for use. These
backups were made at varying stages of database development.
Here
you are given 3 options 'Backup Database', 'Remove Backup'
and 'Restore Database'.
It is advisable that when you backup your database all other modules connected to this database
should be closed. Click on the 'Backup Database' button - the new
backup will immediately be visible in the 'DRS 2006 Backup - Available
Database Backups' window.
If you want to remove one of the backups, select the file from the
'DRS 2006 Backup - Available Database Backups' window then
click 'Remove Database'. Be careful when removing a backup
make a note of the date of the backup.
To restore a backup select the backup from the 'DRS 2006 Backup
- Available Database Backups' window, then click on the 'Restore
Database' button. Don't worry, before the backup file will be
restored a message window will appear asking you to either confirm
or cancel the restoration.

every module. If the checkboxes are checked, the plugin will be used
in the corresponding module.
Other Audio

Here you can set the location
of an external Audio Editor or Wave Editor such as Adobe Audition. Use the folder icon to
