The DRS 2006 Launcher (03/06/2004)
Before any module is started after the initial installation of DRS 2006, you first need to start the DRS 2006 Launcher. To do this open your Start Menu>Programs and choose the DRS 2006 Launcher from the DRS 2006 Program folder.

This module gives you access to each part of the program using a single mouse click. The Launcher provides you with a visual overview of all the modules that are registered in your DRS 2006 Package. You must register your DRS 2006 Package in this module before you can start using DRS 2006, but this only needs to be done once.

Enabling DRS 2006
When you start DRS 2006 for the first time, you will need to unlock the system before any of the buttons are enabled. To do this locate the button marked 'Enter Registration Key'. A new window will pop up and provide a place to enter your registered name and registration key. You will receive this information from the DRS 2006 Support Center after your purchase a DRS 2006 Package.

Be careful to put the information in exactly as it was sent to you from the DRS 2006 Support Center. If you received your registration by email simply copy and paste the information into the space. Once you are sure all the information is correct click on the 'Register' button.

If the registration information was entered correctly the buttons of your registered Package will be now be enabled and you can immediately start using your DRS 2006 system.

You can easily identify which modules are available in your system by looking at each individual module. Any module that is enabled in your system will display a green led while a module that is not available will display a red led. On an enabled module, the module name changes to a bright blue as you move your mouse over it. To start working in the module just click it and the module will open.

Logon DRS 2006
After you have unlocked your DRS 2006 System you should enter the Administration Kit and set up a new DRS 2006 user. Read the 'User Management' section of the Administration Kit manual to learn how to do this.

If you successfully created a new user the next step is to log on to DRS 2006. To do this click on the button marked 'Logon' on the left hand window at the top. A dialog will open asking you to enter your DRS 2006 user password. You only have to type in your password - a user name is not required and will be determined by DRS 2006 according to your password. Click on 'Logon' to confirm your password. If your password was correct your user name will show on the screen located in the top left corner of the Launcher and your Administration Kit enabled modules will also highlight.

Note: Depending on the rights you granted to each individual user some modules may not be available after you logon to DRS 2006. Read about how you can change the user rights in the Administration Kit manual.

Customer Logo
As you probably already noticed the little window in the top right corner of the Launcher shows the words 'customlogo.jpg'. This means that instead of the DRS 2006 enterprise logo your company logo (or any other logo) can be displayed in this screen. To use this function all you have to do is create and copy a file named "customlogo.jpg" to the DRS 2006 directory, by default this is "C:\DRS2006". The file should contain the logo you want to be displayed and will be aligned in the center of the window. (Optimal Pixel Size: 277 X 144 +/-)

Logoff DRS 2006 User

When you have completed your work you should log off from the DRS 2006 system thus enabling another user to log on at a later time. This is quickly done by pressing the button marked 'Logoff'. You should then see the words 'No Current User' in red letters on the screen in the top left corner of the Launcher. Note: you won't be able to open any DRS 2006 module before you logon to the DRS 2006 system again.

In case you forget to log off from DRS 2006 the next time you start the system again the last user will automatically be connected to DRS 2006. Be sure to log off to preserve security.

Exit DRS 2006 Launcher
When you want to shut down the DRS 2006 Launcher simply click on the button marked 'Exit DRS 2006 Launcher' in very bottom right corner of the screen. Note: when you shut down the Launcher this won't have any effect on any other DRS 2006 module that might still be running. You will have to shut down each module individually.

Congratulations! You now have the power of the worlds most advanced broadcast automation system at your command. With DRS 2006 things don't get harder, they just get better.
